We do! Orders for single filters and customized sets can be placed from the Custom Shop on our site. Click on the subsection for the device you'd like filters for, and the available options will come up. Note some filter models may not be available to add to custom sets, either because they are out of stock or because there is a difference in pricing.
If a country is not listed, it is because we are unable to offer shipments there at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and encourage anyone interested to visit the other online retailers who sell our products, or to shop local.
Yes. Customs fees are a normal part of any international order, and are the responsibility of the purchaser. Any such costs are determined by the local customs office at the time of import, so we are unable to include them in the final cost of the order.
The majority of our filters do not have an IR cut. The exceptions are the straight ND filters for the BaseCamp Matte Box, which will remain color neutral through 1100nm and thus eliminate IR pollution.
We strongly recommend against this, as the presence of the VND means the polarizer will not work correctly. If both ND and polarization are desired for a shot, we recommend an ND-PL filter, or stacking a CP with a straight ND.
Generally speaking, our filters cannot be used at the same time as a lens hood. Hoods do not leave enough room for the filter frame to fit. However, the filter coatings will offer the same glare/flare reduction benefits as a hood.
Many cameras will allow for a live preview with the filter on, if the shutter speed is lowered enough. If your camera does not allow for this, then a good alternative is to temporarily increase the ISO value for the purpose of setting the polarization. Once polarization is set, ISO can be lowered again before shooting.
Generally the choice of a specific filter is up to the user looking to obtain a specific look and feel. However, the chart below is a good starting point for those looking to see what filter works best in certain situations (note this applies to more than just the Mavic Air).
We also offer a free app for iPhone and Android that can help calculate which filter is best based on your settings.
PolarPro does not make a tablet mount large enough to accommodate a tablet larger than 11”, but it would be possible to remove the ¼”-20 quick-release plate from the tablet mount included with the FlightDeck and install it on a different, ¼”-20 compatible clamp.
Our filters are well below the weight of what the gimbals can handle. We stress-test each filter model, finding a maximum weight each gimbal can support for 300 flights. We then make sure our filter's weight is 1/4 of that maximum weight, guaranteeing they will work perfect.
The manufacturing processes PolarPro and DJI use can result in slight variations in size from one filter or camera lens to another. In rare instances we have seen these variances cause a filter to fit too tightly or loosely on the lens. If this has happened to you, please get in touch with our customer support team and we’ll be happy to swap the filters out.
The Mavic Pro/Platinum filters were redesigned in December of 2016, after some initial reports of gimbal calibration interference. While this did not happen in all cases, we updated the filter design to ensure our customers would not encounter this moving forward. The older generation of filters have a series of ridges around the bezel, while the newer generation filter bezels are completely smooth.
The Phantom 3 and Phantom 4 filters share the same diameter and thread pitch. The Phantom 4 has a longer lens, making them a bit longer than that of the Phantom 3. The filters can be interchanged, however the filters will not sit flush on the lens barrel.
GoPro states the camera is still waterproof without the stock lens cover in place, though only to a depth of about 10 feet (~3 meters). Our Cinema Series filters include an optional o-ring that can be placed between the lens and the filter to help keep out moisture, but we do not recommend diving or snorkeling without the stock lens cover mounted on the camera. For more insight into the camera’s waterproofing and limitations we recommend reaching out to GoPro directly.
For the outside of the FiftyFifty, we recommend rinsing it with warm tap water and gently wiping away any dust or dirt with a microfiber cloth. Our recommended method for the interior is to use the included cleaning tool. If you did not receive a cleaning tool for any reason, please reach out to our customer support team and we’ll be happy to assist.
No, the FiftyFifty occupies the space around the camera’s lens where the filter would otherwise be installed. The GoPro Cinema Series filters are the exception to this rule, given they replace the HERO5/6/7 Black’s stock lens cover.
There can be a large number of differences between individual GoPro camera models and their associated housings, so it is important to know which camera and/or housing you are working with. The most common configurations we see are:
Standard Housing (HERO3/3+/4, 40 meter depth rating)
Dive Housing (HERO3/3+/4, 60 meter depth rating)
Super Suit (HERO5/6/7 Black Only, 60 meter depth rating)
Naked Camera (Camera in "The Frame", or outside of any housing)
We list the housing compatibility of each set of filters on their respective pages on our site, and we have as short video here detailing the differences between the housings to help with identifying them.
Our Tripod Mount does not block the USB port on the bottom of the Osmo Pocket, but some tripod heads may be too wide and will block access when the Pocket is mounted. A good workaround is to use a ball-head tripod which allows the head to be positioned at a 90-degree angle. Install the Pocket using the side threading on the Tripod Mount - the port at the bottom should then remain easily accessible.
As part of an ongoing attempt to streamline and deliver tools that enhance your creative experiences, we have discontinued the PolarPro App. We pride ourselves in providing creators with the best and most up to date solutions and given the resources to maintain the App we have decided to set our sights elsewhere. At PolarPro we are dedicated to continuing our mission of providing you with high-quality camera gear, and we look forward to what is to come.
Please ensure your operating system, graphics drivers, and editing software of choice are up to date. If they are, please try renaming the LUT file extensions from ".CUBE" to ".cube" - some systems will only accept the lowercase version. Should that not help, please reach out to our customer support team for further assistance.
Yes. All of our LUTs are compatible with footage shot on any camera. However, each preset pack was created to match the color profile of a specific camera and shooting profile. Using a LUT intended for the Mavic Air's color profile on footage shot with the Phantom 4 Pro/Adv won't have the "look" it was intended to have without some additional color correction.
